Job Title: Object Oriented Software Engineer
Location: Lexington, MA
Duration: 36 Months and 40 hours per week

The Tactical Networks Group specializes in advanced network and communications systems development, with a focus on tactical mobile, military airborne networks of the future. The Tactical Networks Group uses a combination of technical analysis, modeling, simulation, emulation, prototype development, and flight evaluation to develop new communication systems and evaluate and predict their performance under expected conditions.
This position is for a Software Engineer with extensive experience in software design, development, integration, testing and analysis in order to build models for communications systems and networks for tactical edge networks.
Developer should thrive in a rapid-prototyping environment with fast design-debug cycles.
Object Oriented C++ and Python are the primary languages for development. Candidate should demonstrate strong proficiency in both languages and should expect a skills test.
A strong background in software development of modeling communications systems and developing network protocols and network simulators is required.
Development experience in a native Linux environment is required.
In addition, experience in the following areas is preferred:
* Experience in military or DoD wireless line of sight LOS) and beyond light of site (BLOS) communications
* Experience with modeling communications physical layer effects (i.e. path loss modeling, etc.)
* Experience in network modeling and simulation using tools such as EMANE, CORE, OPNET, NS3
* Experience with AFSIM
The team is looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience doing C++ development post graduate. Looking for someone doing software application development with C++ (not web development or embedded devices).
The candidate MUST have a secret clearance upon start date (an interim is not sufficient for this opening).
