Job Title: Principal Inertial Instrument Engineer

Location: Cambridge, MA

Duration: Direct Hire

Candidates need to be a US Citizen as the Laboratory is a cleared facility.

*A Secret Clearance without Incident or the ability to acquire a security clearance is required for this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Inertial Instrument engineer experienced in electro-mechanical, optical, MEMS and advanced solid state accelerometer and gyroscope design and development. Ideal candidate should have expertise in developing error models, and have the ability to translate system level performance requirements into instrument and sub-component design specifications. Candidate should also be able to support development of system design concepts through knowledge of instrument performance characteristics and have an understanding of navigation augmentation sensors and aiding. Candidate will be expected to support proposal development and new business initiatives.

Qualifications:

Candidate should have Masters or PhD degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics or related electro-mechanical/control system discipline.  Direct experience with novel and emerging technologies that offer significant advances over the current state-of-the art in design, fabrication, assembly, miniaturization and integration is a plus. The individual must be highly self-motivated and must thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity.

Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
