Our client has an opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer to develop leading edge software for next generation pilots on the battlefield. In this position, you will join a growing, cutting-edge team in creating next-generation autonomy and machine learning technologies for the Department of Defense. As this Sr. Software Engineer, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to develop human interfaces and support network system architecture for distributed control. The team’s agile approach allows for achieved solutions in an expedited pace while ensuring quality code. You will work alongside subject matter experts in Air Force operations and human factors areas to develop state-of-the-art systems in decision aiding and vehicle control. This position allows for some field work and ability to work from home with the main location being a laboratory environment.
Essential Job Functions:
In this role, you will be involved in implementing autonomy-oriented graphical user interfaces for desktop and browsers applications (C# WPF, ASP.Net or other technologies).
Work as part of a Scrum team, helping define short-term work to meet long-term goals.
Leverage best practices in the industry to ensure maximum code reusability, extensibility, and modularity. Create operational software to support teaming between humans and autonomy.
Develop software architecture designs that integrate interfaces and network protocols into advanced human interface concepts and create testable prototypes.
Participate in technology enhancements for integration events to incorporate emerging standards, technology advancements, new payloads, and mission requirements.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least a BES. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline with at least 8 years of related experience. Note: We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity category. Candidates with varying degree and experience combinations may be considered for alternative classifications.
Experience programming with compiled languages such as C#, Java, and/or C++.
Ability to apply technical standards, principles, theories and techniques.
Creative problem-solving capabilities.
Must be a self-starter.
Willing to learn new skills. Pluralsite, LinkedIn Learning and tuition reimbursement are available for employees.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Ability to participate in limited short term intermittent travel.
While not specific requirements, an exemplary candidate for this position will have:
Familiarity with MVVM, SOLID principles, and Scrum
Knowledge of WPF, ASP.Net, Node.js, Docker, Git, NuGet, and Visual Studio. Knowledge of node.js, cesium.js, GIS or mapping experience
