Job Description:
Our client is looking for an Acoustic Signal Processing Engineer to be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on projects that span a wide range and research areas. The Acoustic Signal Processing Engineer will work on various commercial, military, or medical technology projects. Innovation and problem solving will be a major part of the Acoustic Signal Processing Engineer role along with the ability to work productively with a diverse team of researchers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Self-starter with the ability to recognize and creatively solve complex problems.
- Perform experiments in an independent and inventive manner.
- Serve both as an individual contributor and lead a project team.
- Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationships.
- Identify and manage project schedules and risks.
- Support business development through proposal writing and the pursuit of strategic partnerships.
- Document project progress.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or closely related field (PhD is a plus but not required) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with phased-array processing and array design.
- Hands-on experience with Active Noise Reduction (ANR) or Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
- Knowledge of adaptive filtering and statistical signal processing.
- Experience with acoustic testing, data acquisitions, and data analysis.
- Experience with embedded DSP system design.
- Broad interest in science and technology with a willingness and interest in expanding into new fields and learning new techniques and skills.
- Knowledge of mathematical modeling or physical systems with a background in statistics or information theory is a plus.
- Excellent writing skills.
