Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support a major program with a focus on full lifecycle systems engineering, from concept development through deployment and sustainment. You will be responsible for executing a wide range of technical planning, integration, and analysis tasks to ensure successful system development and implementation. You will work on a multidisciplinary team supporting large-scale programs, helping to translate complex customer requirements into actionable hardware and software solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Lead or contribute to the development, flow-down, and tracking of system-level requirements.
- Perform systems architecture development and interface definition.
- Develop and maintain Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models using SysML.
- Conduct functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, and requirements allocation.
- Plan and support verification and validation (V&V) activities.
- Evaluate technical solutions based on cost, risk, and supportability.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the system lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of hardware and software subsystems.
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree or PhD may substitute for experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering for airborne or space systems.
- Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and experience using SysML tools.
- Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and manage complex systems integration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with MagicDraw or similar MBSE tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with hardware/software integration processes is preferred.
- Experience supporting aerospace or defense-related programs is highly preferred.
- Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however the candidate will need to obtain a Secret clearance (active Secret clearance is a plus).
